Nate Nanna
Founder & CEO
Nate is a visionary entrepreneur with a profound personal story of resilience, recovery, and purpose. With over 12 years of success in the mortgage lending industry, his life took a dramatic turn in 2004 when he suffered a severe stroke that impaired his speech, reading ability, and short-term memory. Unable to work and financially devastated, Nate spent more than a decade rebuilding his life from the ground up—relying on food stamps, food banks, and the support of family to survive.
Despite overwhelming odds—and being advised to apply for permanent disability—Nate chose a different path, opting instead for rehabilitation through the State of Oregon. Through intensive cognitive retraining at both City College and State University, he rebuilt his mind and reclaimed his independence.
Today, Nate has returned not just with his health, but with a mission. Drawing from his own lived experience with poverty and food insecurity, he founded Feeding American Home Loans—a mortgage company like no other. The company donates 100% of its profits to food banks across the country, addressing hunger at its core.
In parallel, Nate is also leading a bold challenge to the mortgage industry's outdated infrastructure and over-reliance on loan officers—two vulnerabilities he believes create an opportunity for transformational change through innovation and automation. Significantly reducing mortgage costs for borrowers.
This is, as Nate describes it, a true David and Goliath story. Through Feeding American Home Loans, he is not only disrupting an industry but also providing a sustainable solution to feed Americans in need.
As CEO, Nate leads Feeding America Home Loans with bold conviction. He oversees media outreach, strategic partnerships, and the company’s long-term vision to transform both the mortgage industry and the fight against hunger.
